The variety offered by our stores led us all the way to first place.

Topitop, the 100% Peruvian clothing chain, has become Trujillo’s number one shopping destination and the third-favorite in Arequipa, as confirmed by the study Retail Peruano 2012, conducted by Arellano Marketing.

The agency’s commercial director, Cristian Gonzalez, attributed this to the brand’s excellent performance as an independent retailer, and to the ongoing diversification of its products range.

“Its variety has allowed it to become a significant alternative as an anchor store for consumers,” explained Gonzales. He also noted that this year has seen the chain emerge as an important player in the competition provided by department stores.

In Lima, the Gamarra emporium is the most popular shopping mall among Peruvian consumers, followed by Megaplaza and Jockey Plaza.

In the coming years, says Gonzales, preference will be determined by brand, and stores should seize the opportunity to develop in this area.

This highlights Topitop’s emergence as a strong source of competition in the retail market.
